Say the hard thing on day one
If a date is not achievable, you hear it in the first conversation rather than the third month. A lost deposit is recoverable. A lost semester is not.
About the desk
Flight Plus Visa was founded in 2016 after one too many seasons watching capable centres and capable HR teams lose dates they had every reason to hold. Nobody was doing the boring part — deciding what had to happen in which order, for forty people at once.
How it started
In 2015 a Hyderabad consultancy sent us — then a two-person travel desk — a list of thirty-eight students headed to Russian medical universities that September. Their documents were in order. Their admissions were real. By the end of August, eleven had not travelled, because nobody had noticed that apostille had to precede translation, and the translations had to be redone.
None of that was a failure of effort. It was a failure of sequence, and it was entirely predictable to anyone who had run the process before. We spent that winter writing the order of operations down, per country, per category. That document is still the spine of how the firm works.
Since then we have processed over twelve thousand files and managed more than three hundred group departures. The business has grown into three offices and three country desks, but the premise has not moved: a cohort is a scheduling problem wearing a paperwork costume.
How we work
These are the rules we hire against and, occasionally, the rules we lose business over. We are comfortable with that trade.
If a date is not achievable, you hear it in the first conversation rather than the third month. A lost deposit is recoverable. A lost semester is not.
No guaranteed visas, no special channels, no influence over outcomes. Anyone in this trade offering those is either lying or about to get your applicant refused.
Almost every failed cohort we have inherited failed on order of operations, not on diligence. We are, at bottom, a sequencing business.
You see what we see. Status calls exist because someone is hiding a delay; we would rather you found it before we did.
Three countries done properly rather than thirty done on a website. When a fourth is genuinely better served elsewhere, we will name the agency.
Not the filing, not the fare, not the paperwork. Whether the group was where it had to be, on the day it had to be there.
The desk
Small enough that the person who quoted your file is the person who runs it. Large enough that no cohort depends on one individual being at their desk.
