Frequently asked
Straight answers,
including the awkward ones.
This trade runs on vagueness, which is exactly why we have written these down. If something here is unclear or you think we have dodged it, tell us and we will rewrite the answer.
Working with us
01 What is the minimum group size?
Airline group contracts generally begin at ten passengers travelling on the same routing. Visa work has no minimum — we file single applications for corporate accounts — but our group pricing and dedicated desk start at ten.
02 How far ahead should a study-abroad cohort start?
For a September intake, we want the file open by March and documents closed by May. For the United States specifically, start earlier: appointment availability, not document readiness, is what usually decides the departure date.
03 How does a first engagement usually start?
With one group, not a contract for the year. You send the cohort, we return a written feasibility note inside a working day, and you decide whether to open the file. Most accounts we hold today started as a single awkward group somebody else had already struggled with.
Risk, refusals and money
01 What happens if a visa is refused after the seats are booked?
Group contracts are negotiated with a tolerance band — typically a small percentage of the block may be released without penalty. Beyond that band we work the airline for a date change rather than a cancellation, and we tell you the exposure in writing before you pay the deposit.
02 How do you charge?
Visa work is a per-applicant professional fee, quoted by category, exclusive of consular and government fees which are paid at cost. Air travel is quoted as an all-in per-seat fare. Corporate accounts can be moved to a monthly retainer with consolidated billing.
03 What does a professional fee not cover?
Consular and government fees, SEVIS and MRV payments, VFS or visa-application-centre service charges, translation, notarisation, apostille, courier and any consular biometric fee. All of these are passed through at cost with receipts attached to the invoice.
04 Do you take payment from students directly?
Only under the referral model, and only where the centre has asked us to. Under white-label and embedded models we invoice the centre and never raise a charge to a student.
Scope and coverage
01 Can you work with a cohort that is already partly documented?
Yes. We start with an audit: what exists, what is usable, what has to be redone. You get a written gap list per applicant before any fee is charged.
02 Do you handle travellers from outside our three destinations?
Russia, the United States and Germany are where we run a dedicated desk, and it is where our airline contracts sit. We do file for other destinations for existing accounts, but we will say so plainly if another agency is better placed.
03 Can you support the group after departure?
Our departure desk stays live through arrival, and we hold a twenty-four-hour line for the first week for student cohorts. Beyond that we hand over to your on-ground partner.
Who talks to whom
01 Who actually talks to our students or employees?
Your choice. Most study-abroad centres keep the student relationship and use us behind the counter; most corporates prefer we contact travellers directly for documents. Under the sub-agent programme we never contact your client at all.
02 Can our counsellors sit in on mock interviews?
Yes, and we encourage it. Counsellors who have watched three mocks handle their own students noticeably better for the rest of the season.
03 What does your tracker actually show?
Per applicant: category, document status line by line, fee payments, appointment status, interview date and outcome, and ticketing status. It is read-only for you and updated by the person doing the work, not by an administrator summarising it later.
The uncomfortable questions
01 Do you guarantee a visa?
No, and you should be careful with anyone who does. Visa decisions rest entirely with the issuing consulate. What we control is that the file is complete, correctly categorised, filed in the right window and defended in an interview the applicant has already rehearsed.
02 Are you affiliated with any embassy or consulate?
No. Flight Plus Visa is a private travel and documentation services company. We have no special access, no expedited channel and no influence over outcomes. Anyone claiming otherwise is misrepresenting how this works.
03 Have you ever lost a cohort a season?
Yes. Twice in nine years, both on United States appointment supply, both on files we opened later than we should have accepted. We now decline files that start inside the window where we cannot be confident, and we say why.
04 What makes you walk away from a file?
Documents we are asked to present as something they are not, a date that cannot be met and a client unwilling to hear it, or a destination where we would be pretending to a depth we do not have.
